Nutrition and Health Programme Highlights from Jumla, Kalikot and Dolpa

During FY 2024/25, MDI carried out five projects with WFP and government partners to strengthen nutrition, health, and resilience in Karnali Province and nearby earthquake‑affected areas. The Mother and Child Health and Nutrition (MCHN) Programme, implemented from January to March 2025 in Jumla, Kalikot, and Dolpa, supported 13,470 pregnant and breastfeeding women and children under two. Activities included monthly growth monitoring, MIYCN counselling, cooking demonstrations using local foods, supply‑chain supervision, and coordination with local governments. The programme ensured uninterrupted nutrition services, improved data tracking, and maintained service quality despite the short implementation period. This extension phase successfully prevented service gaps and helped sustain community trust and programme momentum.
